OVER 40 SPORTS , ENTERTAINMENT, ACTIVITES AND SOCIAL EVENTS

The North Queensland Games are the largest, regularly run, multi-event sporting carnival in regional Australia, as well as Australia's largest regional Games. The inaugural North Queensland Games were held at Townsville at Easter in 1984 and are now staged every two years on a rotational basis between regions centred on the cities of Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns.

The next Games will be held in the Cairns region over 24-26 June 2016. It is anticipated that over 40 traditional team and individual sports will be delivered in Cairns and the surrounding regions. Plus a host of "new" sports and experiences you can take part in.

There will be a Games Opening Ceremony, entertainment, officials summit, dive in movies and a host of new additions to the event in 2016. The best way to stay up to date is through the Games Facebook page or twitter page.

Sports and Events

Registration for most sports is done online through IMG. There is a small transaction fee when you checkout of 3%. If you are looking for merchandise as well you can buy it online during the registration process as well as on the merchandise link below.

There is a huge range of gear to help you celebrate and say " I'm glad I came to Cairns " From warm hoodies to personalised shirts with every competitors name on them. All items will be available on line and from the checkin centre. Orders placed before 1 June will be available for collection from the Games Headquarters in Cairns pre event.
